Savings and finance specialist Bristol and West has invested over £300,000 to install the latest printer management hardware and software from Lexmark in all of its 135 branches across the UK. The deal will ensure that 95% of the company’s printers are remotely manageable and more cost-efficient by the end of March 2002.
Lexmark’s MarkVision Professional is the industry-leading network and print management software tool designed for IT administrators, and will enable the real-time monitoring of over 300 Lexmark printers.
The banking sector relies on printing functions to provide customers with account statements, status reports and correspondence. It indicates when supplies need replenishing, and can remotely diagnose printer problems in real-time, saving time, storage costs and a potential delay in the service delivered to customers.
Phil King, project manager for IT services at Bristol and West said: "Much of our work at Bristol & West is paper-based, and geared towards informing our customers about new services and the status of their accounts. We cannot risk delays in turning these documents around, so the speed and maintenance of our printers is critical."
"MarkVision Professional will enable us to monitor the status of printers that may be hundreds of miles away. Our branches can cut down on toner storage now we are able to order supplies only when needed, and we can identify printer faults in real-time to cut down on technician call-outs."
