Lexmark to supply printing solution to Bank of Ireland

Marlow, UK - 04/03/2002

Bank of Ireland has purchased an 'SCS’ printing solution from Lexmark International in partnership with reseller Ergo, enabling workers to print from both mainframe systems and branch office PCs. The solution ensures that the printers and systems speak in a common language enabling all systems to print from the same printer, saving Bank of Ireland the cost of purchasing a variety of printers for each system.

Imelda Buckley, Manager MI and Reporting Group Credit for Bank of Ireland said: "We were very pleased with the speed with which Lexmark resolved our printing issue. The solution they have provided not only improves the efficiency of our printing, but it gives us the tangible benefit of reducing costs."

Before the Lexmark solution was implemented, users were printing their reports on the central mainframe printer in one location. The reports were then passed to another department where they were then sent to regional offices by internal mail.

Buckley continued: "With the Lexmark solution, the reports are sent directly to the printers in the relevant locations from the mainframe when required. The new process is vastly quicker, ultimately saving money by reducing the time and effort spent distributing the documents."

Lexmark’s solution is part of an ongoing relationship with Bank of Ireland, having previously supplied the bank with T520 laser printers and SCS Coax/Twinax cards.
