A new study by Deloitte Research ranks Lexmark fifth on a list of the world’s top computer hardware manufacturers, and the highest-ranking printer manufacturer in the study. Lexmark is 61st on the overall list of the world’s top 100 manufacturing companies from all sectors, according to Deloitte Research's Global Manufacturing 100 Index.
Jane Cronin, Lexmark’s marketing and channel director, Printing Solutions and Services Division, believes Lexmark’s manufacturing capability has been key to Lexmark’s success with customers.
“Unlike some of our competitors, Lexmark designs, develops and owns the technology inside its products. Through investing heavily in research and development, we’ve been able to use this capability to develop the easy to implement digital office and network printing solutions that our customers are asking for. On top of this, we’ve been able to provide some of the best price-performance in the industry, helping customers to take cost out of their business and to use technology to gain competitive edge. As a result, we’re continuing to outperform the market and expect that to continue.”
The study rates companies using a formula based on current and future expected performance. The report concluded that top companies focus on five key areas: customer relationship management, product innovation, supply chain management, human resources management and business infrastructure, including cost reduction programmes.
