Lexmark breaks the price barrier again with photo quality resolution

Lexmark International, the printer manufacturer, today announced the Lexmark Z45se and Lexmark Z55se colour inkjet printers. They will replace the Z45 and Z55 and will both feature resolution of up to 4800 x 1200 dots per inch (dpi), whilst remaining at the existing retail price. Existing customers who purchased a Z45 or Z55 can obtain the new driver for free by and downloading the upgrade. Lexmark became the first printer manufacturer to market with 4800 dpi resolution when it introduced the £129 Z65 colour inkjet printer in March 2002.

The Z55se offers advanced home users a maximum 4800 x 1200 dpi in black and colour on photo paper, inkjet paper and transparencies as well as 4800 x 600 dpi on plain paper.
Other features include:

  • Lexmark’s PrecisionSense™ technology, which automatically senses paper type and precisely adjusts driver settings for the best possible output
  • Fast print speeds of up to 17 pages per minute (ppm) in black and up to 13 ppm in colour

  • Accu-feed™ paper handling system
  • USB and parallel connectivity Windows, Mac and Linux compatibility
