Lexmark Equipment Collection Programme

 

Lexmark is advocating full product stewardship, including the proper disposal of electronic equipment at the end of its useful life. That’s why we support and encourage the implementation of the European WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).

This Directive requires that the waste from electrical and electronic equipment has to be collected separately from everyday household waste for proper recovery.
 

 
 

 Thus, Lexmark equipment is marked according to the requirements of the EU WEEE Directive. The special "crossed out wheeled bin" symbol is placed on products to indicate that waste from electrical and electronic equipment must be subject to a selective collection.

Although the Directive only applies to end of life electrical and electronic goods (printers included), for many years Lexmark has been providing collection programmes for the return of empty cartridges discarded by our consumers. For the benefit of the environment and the efficiency of our recycling processes, we encourage you to return the empty cartridges separately from your used equipment.

Lexmark collection schemes vary from country to country, depend on government transposition details of the WEEE Directive and on Lexmark local services offers. Thus, we advise you to contact your local Lexmark office or representative for further information.

 

If you are home user

Return your end-of-life Lexmark equipment to your local authorised collection centre.
Please contact your competent authorities for more details.

 

Should you plan to buy a new equivalent printing equipment, you may also return your old device to your retailer.

If you are a professionnal user

Lexmark has set-up a fully compliant logistic system for the transport of your waste back to our recycling partners facilities. We have contracted with a transport company that is able to operate European-wide.

National Hubs are already operational for the storage and sorting of your used equipment before it is properly recycled. Lexmark is able to deliver full trace-ability of your products at the end of their useful life and can provide you with recycling compliance certificates upon request.
